Since 2014, I have been a fan of planners. After homeschooling and using a lesson planner for a few years, I realized it would be helpful to combine the two. Though I learned about digital planners a few years ago, I couldn’t imagine using one as I love physical paper planners. However, as a tech enthusiast, when my son gifted me a tablet, I decided to give digital planning a try and instantly became a fan.
When I first started creating my digital planner, I was excited to make it look just like a paper planner. However, I found that a two-page spread on a single screen wasn’t comfortable for me, and I found vertical planners to be more comfortable to write in. As a result, my digital planner style has evolved, and knowing me, it will continue to evolve over time.
The best part? I have a reusable daily page on my landing page that I use every day. It’s been a game-changer for me, and I love how it helps me stay focused on what’s important without getting bogged down in the details.
What is Included on my Landing Page
My financial page: this is where I manage bills on a weekly basis. I list the upcoming bills on something a lot like a check register, with check marks when I’ve paid it and highlighting or erasing them when they clear the bank. I also have a recurring list of bills for the month, a mini calendar for the month, and a place for notes and doing math. It’s worked well for me.
Menu Planning: There’s just a simple 3 column menu planner where I figure out meals. Below this is a place to list the groceries I will need. I refer to this list when I make my grocery order.
Note: This is a page for miscellaneous information. Sometimes it is just a holding place for information I need short term. If I need to keep it, I move it to my A-Z page, which is linked on the notes page.
Blank Sheet: I use to put all sorts of note paper in my digital planners: lined, blank, graph, etc. I rarely used them though. I decided a blank sheet that is hyperlinked to the other important stuff is all that I need.
Contacts: I don’t have a long list of names, emails, phone numbers, etc. These contacts are mostly close family and their mailing addresses that I should already have memorized!
After creating my landing page, I realized it looked quite plain in black and white, but I knew I could add pops of color with pen color, stickers, and images. The original page is shown below, but keep scrolling to see what it looks like “after the pen”. It’s quite easy to change up the design, and I love having my to-do list and schedule on the front page.
It has made more of a difference than I realized. It’s quite easy to change it up as well. I love having the to do list and schedule on the front page. Did I mention that already? I was bored with the way I had been displaying my files and notebooks so I did something a little different with the shapes.
The months are linked to a single monthly calendar, However if I wanted to add any “inserts” that were monthly-related, It would be easy to slip them right behind the month.
That’s all for now! If you have any questions or are interested in getting a copy of my custom-designed page for the Samsung S6 Lite, please leave a message below.
