Say goodbye to ring interference and make the most of every page!
Have you ever found yourself frustrated by the limitations of your planner’s ring binding? The struggle of trying to use the left-hand pages without those rings getting in the way is a common woe among planner enthusiasts. Thankfully, many years ago I stumbled upon a brilliant solution that has transformed the way I plan, courtesy of my favorite planner guru, Giftie Etcetera. (Read her blog post here)
The Double-Punched Page Hack
The essence of this game-changing planner hack lies in a simple adjustment: hole punching the pages on both the left and right sides. This ingenious tweak grants you the freedom to utilize the entire planner without any hindrance from the rings.
Imagine this scenario: You’re engrossed in jotting down your plans on the right side of your planner. When it’s time to turn the page to the next day, you’d typically be faced with the challenge of using the left side. However, with this trusty hack, it’s a breeze. Just remove the page, flip it over, and reinsert it using the punches on the right side. It’s that easy!
The Importance of Generous Margins
To make the most of this hack, I recommend ensuring you have ample margins on both sides of your pages. Personally, I’ve found that a 1/2 inch margin works perfectly. This provides the necessary space for the double punching without compromising the content on your pages.
Preserving Your Rings
I understand that many of you prefer to minimize wear and tear on your planner rings. Fear not, for I have another nifty hack up my sleeve. After you’ve punched your pages, take a pair of scissors and carefully cut a small slit into each hole. This small modification allows you to press the pages down into place or remove them without having to open the rings.
And there you have it, a planner hack that can truly change your planning experience. Say farewell to ring interference and make every page count!
